Alcoa is approaching Dutch company Aloft regarding the sale of its Portland aluminum smelter, according to foreign media reports.
Aloft Holdings is committed to acquiring aluminum assets globally, having previously acquired the only aluminum smelter in the Netherlands, and has committed to a new international metals group. The Portland aluminum smelter has been evaluated and discussions have been underway for several months with American Industries and Alcoa Australia regarding a potential acquisition.
At the same time, in recent months, Alcoa is also actively seeking solutions for the sale of Portland aluminum smelter, and has negotiated with a number of interested companies, and said that as long as the price is right, Alcoa is happy to sell the aluminum smelter assets.
